Is the Release of Obama’s Seal Presumptuous? NO…just presidential!

Department of Obama Image debuts new "Presidential Seal" featuring "Yes We Can" in Latin.

OBAMA SEALThe new , inspired by the real presidential seal, debuted in Chicago on Friday at a meeting presumptive nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) had with Democratic governors. The seal displays “Vero Possumus” which is the Obama "Yes We Can" slogan in Latin. It was created by the Obama campaign graphics team and in a bit of graphics whimsy, also incorporates the Obama "O" rising sun icon.

Senator Obama has styled himself as "the audacity of hope" candidate with the unveiling of his new campaign seal causing his critics to say that he is simply audacious -- not to mention presumptuous.

Audacious? We hope so as the dictionary defines the word as meaning: “daring, bold and unrestrained by convention.”

Presumptuous? Probably….but who cares. I  rather think of him as being a “confident” candidate and one who is going to redefine the presidency, not only because it is a great thing but more so because it is so desperately needed.

The symbol consists of a blue circle featuring a bald eagle gripping an olive branch in one claw and arrows in the other, hence the comparisons to the official seal of the president of the United States. It was on Obama's podium when he spoke to Democratic governors meeting in Chicago.

Naturally, the Republicans ridiculed the symbol.

"This is too serious a contest about too serious of issues for a candidate to be playing make-believe on the trail," said Brian Rogers, a spokesman for presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.

MAKE BELIEVE? The guy is one step away from being the President of the United States! So I certainly hope that he is envisioning himself in the job while campaigning which has very much to do with marketing or as it is more commonly known as. “the making of a President.”

"We've used different design elements at various events, and this particular one worked well for this event," said Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan.

Sevugan said he wasn't sure who came up with the design or whether it would be used again. "I'm not aware of any specific plans," he said.

I, however, as an enthusiastic Obama supporter, think he should continue to stand behind the seal (physically and figuratively) so that we and the world can get used to the Idea of being the next 44th President of the United States!.

I think it’s perfect – it makes him look like the little kid playing President that he is.
