Why a Third-Party Candidacy Makes Sense for Ron Paul
Lew Rockwell - Burlingame,CA,USA
by Joe Schembrie by Joe Schembrie Until , many Ron Paul supporters believed his efforts to win the presidency were best served by remaining within the
Republican Party. They believed the primaries would end in a brokered convention from which Paul could emerge as the "compromise" candidate. Proponents of this scenario argued that Paul must remain a Republican, for history tells us that third-party candidates have no chance of winning the presidency.

The two candidates who have been active radio advertisers are Republican Ron Paul and Democrat
Barack Obama. Several station groups report receiving queries from Hillary Clinton's campaign but as yet no actual buys. Paul, for example, has bought time on KIRO-AM, KVI-AM and KOMO-AM, all news-talk stations, but also on music stations KCMS-FM and KMTT-FM. Obama, meanwhile, bought time on several music stations: KPLZ-FM, KUBE-FM, KQMV-FM (marketed as Movin) and KISW-FM.

Should Ron Paul Stay Just to Speak at the National Convention?                                                                                                          Nolan Chart LLC - Warrenton,VA,USA                                                                                                                                                   Before I ask you to read the list at the end of this column, can anyone name two of the speakers at the 2004 Republican Convention(excluding Bush)? The answers are at the end. While the Mainstream Media has ignored Paul, his message has been there for the taking. Youtube has been an incredible medium for the spread of Ron Paul's message. Thousands upon thousands of Meet-up groups across the nation have canvassed communities and waved signs with unlimited enthusiasm. We could quadruple Paul's support in my state of Georgia, and he would have 12%. What we have tried so far is not working.

While he may hang in there for a few more weeks, the hope of Dr. Paul having any sway at a brokered convention has been dashed as he failed to pick up a substantial amount of delegates tonight on Super Tuesday. While he did have some double digit showings in North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, and Alaska, these winner take all states did not boost his profile in the end.

Mitt Romney. Presidential candidate, or time-traveling android?

The Romneybot looks like what our future robot overlords imagine we humans want in a president after researching hours of “The West Wing.”

This nation has never been more ready for a third party candidacy. Last hurrah, my eyeball! I view this joke of a campaign by all candidates as a deliberate conspiracy to highjack America and Americans. Ron Paul is the last hope to change the mess that the Bushes and Clintons have made. We do not need more of the same and we definitely do not need a Democratic presidency nor the greater majority of Republicans.

Maryanne, I couldn’t agree with you more on America’s need for a third party. I believe it will be the only way to put the pressure needed on the other parties to affect any change. Appealing to their sense of what right and just is a joke until their jobs are on the line.
