White House Climate Report Released, Late…..Very Late »

As a government scientist, James Hansen took a risk. He said there are things the White House never wanted the American public to hear but he decided to to say them anyway. Hansen is head of NASA’s top institute studying the climate and arguably the world’s leading researcher on global warming. But this imminent scientist said that the Bush administration restricted who he could talk to and editing what he can said, admitting, “politicians have rewritten the science. Well now under a court order and four years late, the White House on Thursday produced what it called a science-based “one-stop shop” of specific threats to the United States from man-made global warming.

Is it Possible Gas Prices Being Manipulated by Dark Markets? »

I believe that most Americans are outraged and puzzled over the escalating price of gasoline every time they fill-up or even pass a service station. In response to the public outcries and queries the Bush Administration has been saying up to yesterday that the law of “supply & demand” was to blame. I think that most began to doubt that rationale as the price of oil passed $100 per barrel and kept rising. What’s been even more puzzling and harder to believe is that no one could give the public any answers that made any sense and that there wasn’t anyone that really knew why. Why was this happening…..and how can it be stopped! The Lang Report hopes to explain……

Rupert Murdoch Says McCain is “Unpredictable” and Obama Will Win »

Last night at the “All Things Digital” conference sponsored by the Wall Street Journal, Rupert Murdoch blew everone away when he said this about Barack Obama: “He is a rock star. It’s fantastic” “I love what he is saying about education.” “I don’t think he will win Florida…..but he will win in Ohio and the election”. “I am anxious to meet him.” “I want to see if he will walk the walk.”
Wow….and this coming from the owner of the Fox News channel!

Rep. Robert Wexler Perseveres in Seeking the Truth »

There are few in Congress that The Lang Report holds in higher esteem than Rep. [tag]Robert Wexler[/tag] (D-Fl) who has tirelessly worked to seek the truth of regarding the questionable activities of President Bush, V.P. Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and others that may have used their position for unconstitutional and/or illegal purposes.

I, Michael Lang, as Publisher of The Lang Report have chosen to reprint certain correspondence that I have received from Congressman Wexler and others for the purpose of fulfilling their requests and assisting them in achieving their goals.

Here is one such letter concerning the publication of former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan’s tell-all book. (Bravo Mr. McClellan)

Karl Rove Doesn’t Deny Involvement in Siegelman Case »

Former Bush chief strategist Karl Rove deliberately declined to deny his involvement in the controversial prosecution of Don Siegelman, the former Alabama Governor whose arrest on grounds of corruption appeared politically motivated. In an at times dismissive interview with ABC’s “This Week” Rove said that he would not respond to a subpoena by the House Judiciary Committee imploring his testimony in the Siegelman case. Asked if he had ever made contact with the Justice Department, the man known as Bush’s brain said: “I read about — I’m going to simply say what I’ve said before, which is I found out about Don Siegelman’s investigation and indictment by reading it in the newspaper.” “But that’s not a denial,” said the host George Stephanopoulos. Former Press Secretary McClellan Tells All on Bush, White House and more…. »

Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a surprisingly scathing memoir to be published next week that President Bush “veered terribly off course,” was not “open and forthright on Iraq,” and took a “permanent campaign approach” to governing at the expense of candor and competence. Among the most explosive revelations in the 341-page book, titled “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception” McClellan charges that Bush relied on “propaganda” to sell the war. He says…..

Bob Barr is Official Libertarian Candidate as Mike Gravel Ends Political Career »

The Libertarian Party on Sunday picked former Republican Rep. Bob Barr to be its presidential candidate after six rounds of balloting. Barr beat research scientist Mary Ruwart, who also sought the party’s presidential nomination unsuccessfully in 1983, on the final ballot. The vote was 324-276. Sunday’s election also marked the end of the latest chapter in the political career of Mike Gravel, a former senator from Alaska who recently dropped out of the Democratic presidential race. “I just ended my political career,” he said.

You Might Be Surprised Who Is to Blame Rising for Gasoline Prices …..I Was »

You’re paying way more for gasoline than common sense would suggest, and you might be surprised by who’s to blame….. I WAS! Take a guess.
It’s not the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), AS it lost control of the markets 20 years ago. It’s not Big Oil as it contributes only a sliver of global oil supply. And it’s not the government as the U.S. investment in oil is relatively small, comparatively speaking. Each of these former powerhouses influences the market infrequently and only to a small degree. What’s driving prices higher more recently is a rush of new investors from professional fund managers with no real interest in actually owning oil….just regular people trying to make a buck?

Sad, sad Desperate Hillary…..What’s Next? »

Democrat Hillary Clinton Saturday hustled to put out a firestorm sparked by her mention of the 1968 assassination of senator Robert Kennedy to justify prolonging her White House bid.
The New York senator hastily apologized after telling a newspaper board in South Dakota Friday that she could not understand calls for her to quit and arguing that history showed that some past nominating contests had gone on into June.
It’s amazing what egocentric desperation can drive a once rational person to do.
