With the election four days away, Amy Goodman od Democracy Now spent an hour with Academy Award-winning filmmaker and author Michael Moore. His film Fahrenheit 9/11 took on the Bush administration. Sicko took on the health insurance industry and now he speaks out on the election, the bailout, healthcare, and 10 “proposed decrees” from a new White House.

A University of Texas poll to be released will show a statewide survey of 550 registered voters has one very surprising finding: 23 percent of Texans are convinced that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is a Muslim.
I received this comment yesterday and thought that the statement made was one that most Americans need to hear and understand. That the United States is the most religious country on the planet and, in my opinion, the most hypocritical. The lesson to be learned from the enclosed comment is that we would be far better off if we could further separate our churches from our state.
If he gets his way, Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, also known as “Joe the Plumber,†plans to enjoy a lot more than just 15 minutes of fame referring to Andy Warhol’s often quoted 1968 statement: “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” So as Joe “the plumber†Wurzelbacher enters his 16th minute of fame the clock begins ticking to see just how long he’ll be able to sustain his “Paris Hilton-like†celebrity status.
It is now being reported that in 1964, then Lieutenant John McCain, was involved in a car crash at the main gate of a Virginia naval base that injured or killed another individual…….AND IT WAS COVERED UP! The Lang Report published an article titled, “John McCain Should Know that People in 13 Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Stones†believing that it was a fair bet that McCain has something to hide in his past……and now this may be the “smoking gun.â€
I am very, very nervous. Or maybe fearful is a better word for what I feel everytime I let myself think about Barack Obama, the first person of color, to be freely elected to be our next President of our United States. Our election process has been compromised in so many ways that the solution to it seems out of reach.Much of the debate has been about the machines used to aggregate and count the individual votes. No matter which machine is used, it is all too easy to “hack†and manipulate them. But a cryptographic system developed under the leadership of electronic-cash pioneer David Chaum can guarantee that every vote cast using an optical scanner is correctly recorded.
Here are some of the hottest and most current stories on the Obama/Biden’s Presidential campaign as America moves into the final week before the election. It is coming down to the wire and The Lang Report will be publishing one more “Hot Link” post before November 4th.
We know that Sarah Palin believes in Creationism and thinks that it should be taught as science in public schools. But she’s not really a Creationist, she actually subscribes to another Christian faction called DOMINIONISM. Dominionism holds that Christians have rightful “dominion†over the earth- including its political institutions. Now, for those of you that were a little put off by Sarah Palin’s belief in Creationism…..
Just when you thought the Sarah Palin couldn’t say anything that would further embarass the campaign or perhaps something stupider than she already has…….SHE’S DONE IT AGAIN! Before the press this week, “Stupid Sarah†tried to point out just how much money is wasted on earmarks beginning by sarcastically lampooning “fruit fly†research instead of using it for autism research. Our democracy works, or suppose to work, as a result of the system of checks and balances as written in our Constitution by our Founding Fathers. So what happens when something is not right and decisions are made and actions taken that are not in accordance with the rules…….then what? Well, one recourse is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Let me be more specific. According to Army Times, the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys. Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home.
