The Obama administration threw open the curtain on years of Bush-era secrets Monday, revealing anti-terror memos that claimed exceptional search-and-seizure powers and divulging that the CIA destroyed nearly 100 videotapes of interrogations and other treatment of terror suspects. The Justice Department released nine legal opinions showing that, following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the Bush administration determined that certain constitutional rights would not apply during the coming fight.

Could it be? Is it possible that someone in authority has the balls and integrity to have the Bush Crime Family finally answer for their actions? Maybe! At last, Senator Patrick Leahy, an influential senator proposed that a “truth commission” should investigate Bush and his Crime Family’s policies including the promotion of war in Iraq, detainee treatment and wiretapping without a warrant…..just for starters

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) issued a new subpoena yesterday to former Bush White House aide Karl Rove, months after Rove deflected an earlier effort to compel his testimony about the firing of nine U.S. attorneys and other political disputes that swirled around the Justice Department. I know what you’re thinking….here we go again. He’ll just ignore it and life will go on. BUT MAYBE NOT! Remember, there is a new man in charge sitting in that Oval Office where the buck comes to s screeching halt! So let’s see how long Mr. “Rat-fink Fu*k” Rove can duck this one.

President Obama launched Open for Questions,” a two-way dialogue between the Transition team
and the Change.gov community which was extremely well-received with more than 20,000 people
casting nearly 1,000,000 votes on over 10,000 questions posed by the community.
The Open for Questions program demonstrates President Obama’s belief using technology to foster a
user-friendly way for American citizens to communicate with the White House.

Vice President Dick Cheney defended administration policies when he gave what could be considered his exit interview or at least his last public interview with Bob Schieffer this morning on Face the Nation. However Cheney might have shot himself in the foot (well, he does have a history of erratic shooting) when he was asked if he believed the administration’s suspension of habeas corpus was legal….

The Urban Dictionary defines the old adage Life Ain’t Fair as: A phrase which seems to be able to justify any means people may use to fuck you over…… sound familiar? Bill Clinton lies about having an affair. Result: he’s brought to trial and nearly kicked out of office. Richard Nixon conspires to cover up a break-in at the Democratic National Headquarters. Result: he’s forced to resign just before he would have been booted from the presidency. George W. Bush invades a sovereign country while lying to the American people and the United Nations. Result: nothing more than shitty approval ratings.

If you’ve never heard of COINTELPRO…you should have as it gave birth to the Patriot Act and the Bush Crime Family’s covert and overt infringements on our civil liberties. COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) is a program of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at investigating and disrupting dissident political organizations within the United States. The FBI and police instigated violence and fabricated movement horrors. Dissidents were deliberately “criminalized” through false charges, frame-ups, and offensive, bogus leaflets and other materials published in their name. The Counter Intelligence Program helped destroy the movements of the 60s including the Anti-war movement which I was a participant in at the time.

Mark Felt remained one of this century’s best kept secrets until 2005 when he revealed that he was the infamous “DEEP THROAT,” the source who had secretly supplied Bob Woodward of The Washington Post with crucial leads in the Watergate affair in the early 1970s. W. Mark Felt, who was the No. 2 official at the FBI when he helped bring down President Richard M. Nixon by resisting the Watergate cover-up and becoming Deep Throat, the most famous anonymous source in American history, died on Thursday. He was 95 and lived in Santa Rosa. Felt’s decision to unmask himself, in an article in Vanity Fair, ended a guessing game that had gone on for more than 30 years.
