<description>My gad!! For years, I thought John McCain was an environmental advocate who believed Global Warming was a national security risk for America. Then, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) labeled him as one of the worst on record for pro-environmetal voting. Now, Sarah Palin may be VP? We&#039;re doomed! I wrote a segment of my Online Environmental Activism (OEA) Blog on this. I&#039;d enjoy hearing your reactions to it:

<description>Thank you for your polite reply Mike.

I did not see the Charlie Gibson interview as you did - he was extremely condescending (looking down his nose and over his glasses many times at her as though she was a naughty schoolgirl!) and asked her leading questions, not open ended questions which a professional interviewer has to know how to perform. He did not know the &quot;Bush Doctrine&quot; and there never was one until the Democrats invented it.

BOTH Leaders of BOTH parties lie to the public every day of every week and change their positions to meet the ever changing opinion polls - do not be so high and mighty as to judge only on PARTY of lying - you WILL be proven very wrong sooner rather than latter. Charles Rangle as Head of the Ways and Means committe and Ethics cheating on his taxes and Nancy Pelosi refusing to discipline him despite all her campaign retoric about driving corruption out of Washington - just one example of the boot on the other foot!

As I said before, if we cannot discuss this race on the issues, without mud slinging, then we deserve what we get. Either Obama or McCain elected with at least 45% of the American public hating the president because we cannot control our anger in these Newsletters, Blogs and the Media.

<description>Barry, thank you for articulating your poisiton so well and backing it up with apparent facts and figures.
It is easy in an passionate disagreement to buy into one side or belief or another.... and be wrong.
One example is the White House counsel who actually edited a scientific report on global warming to fit Bush&#039;s political agenda?
I do agree that saying that Governor Palin is full of sh*t lacks couth however &quot;the headline&quot; as you called it was meant to sensationalize her nonchalance and reluctance in being forthcoming during her interview with Charlie Gibson and others since.
I will also admit that my utter frustration with Palin and McCain had reached a blowing point this week as they both reach new lows in lying to the American public. (A comparison of the Obama campaign is not relevant for this discussion).
And I am not comparing anything but there own contradictory statements.
As far as the other points you raised in your comments, I let my other readers comment on that.
I do invite you to continue to read and participate in the democratic process.

<description>Well what a headline! Speaks for the garbage your newspaper prints and reinforces my last e mail about being POLITE in terms of discussing the ISSUES. In my mind the true facts of GLOBAL WARMING have been hidden for too long - the Liberal press does not want anyone to argue with Al Gore&#039;s devotees and the UN &quot;consesus of political scientists&quot;. According to Aurthur B Robinson, a PHd in Nuclear Physics at Caltech and a network of 31,000 US scientists including 9,000 PHd&#039;s the politically accepted theory of global warming is bogus and actually dangerous - see website at PetitionProject.org
Oh, and by the way you forgot to ask Prof Stiener what the statistics were for Polar bear numbers in recent years - they have actually INCREASED!! This was an absolute political ploy to get Polar bears listed as endangered so that environmentalists could get drilling to stop in the Artic. Meanwhile Russia will drill where it damn well pleases up there and will not do it with the technology we have (far greater spill probability) and will probably kill polar bears to feed the workers on the rigs and pipelines.
Well done</description>
