Presidential candidate has taken a firm stance against Lobbyists and their control over our political system stating that, “the American people know who writes the laws, they know who wrote the Medicare Prescription Drug Law, it was written by the Lobbyists for the Drug companies”

He goes on to say that the Democratic Party, the party of the people, ought to say from this day forward, ‘We will never take a dime from the Washington Lobbyists….we do not do business with these insiders and we are going to give the power back to the people……”

Senator Hillary Clinton, when asked if she will continue to accept money from Lobbyists said, “YES, I WILL, because a lot of those Lobbyists represent real Americans”

Senator Barack Obama emphatically stated the he “disagreed with the notion that Lobbyists don’t have disproportionate influence……the insurance and the drug companies spent one billion dollars in lobbying over the last ten years.”

A recent article by Jeanne Cummings, Chief Money and Lobbying Correspondent The Politico, opens with, Ka-ching! It’s Senate Majority Whip Trent Lotts turn to trade in his U.S. Capital pin for cold hard cash on K Street. And therein lies the problem!

There should be no doubt in the mind of any open-minded citizen that the primary objective of the majority of elected officials are concerned NOT to “promote the general welfare” as written in the Preamble of the Constitution, BUT to pave the way for their lucrative exit from office and the cushy position as “Corporate Pimp” they planned so well for.
