Well, after an historic inauguration ceremony and subsequent celebration, President Barack Obama didn’t waste any time in getting to work, delivering on the promises and commitments made on a very long campaign trail. His first day was a blur as President Obama unveiled his plans to revive the economy followed by the summoning of top military officials to the White House to chart a new course in Iraq. “What an opportunity we have to change this country,” he proudly said.

The following is the full text of U.S. President Barack Obama’s inauguration address on Tuesday. Obama, a Democrat, was sworn in on the steps of the Capitol as the 44th U.S. president around noon EST (1700 GMT), taking over from President George W. Bush, a Republican.
