Letterman Blasts McCain for Canceling Appearance
By Michael Lang on Sep 25, 2008 in Featured
HEADLINE: John McCain Cancels Letterman Appearance and his participation in Friday night’s Presidential debate stating that he needs to rush off to Washington to save the American economy from certain ruin!
Well, as it turns out, John McCain is so busted on his attempt to"outwit, upstage and "look more presidential" than Barack Obama. It seems that his very feeble attempt is failing miserably.
Update: In addition to repeatedly mocking McCain for skipping out on his scheduled appearance Wednesday, Letterman devoted his opening monologue and nightly top 10 list to the subject of "Questions People Are Asking The McCain Campaign." Number Five: "Are You Doing All This Just To Get Out Of Going On Letterman?"
"In the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?" (see Video above)
Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don’t suspend your campaign. This doesn’t smell right. This isn’t the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone’s putting something in his metamucil."
"He can’t run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sarah Palin. Where is she?"
"What are you going to do if you’re elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We’ve got a guy like that now!"
NOTE: Does anyone doubt exactly what John McCain is attempting to do? His “straight talk express” is anything but! It’s getting to the point that McCain’s truth is exactly opposite of what come out of his mouth.
He says that.he is putting aside “politics” to place the needs of the American people above everything else. Several hours after Barack Obama called McCain suggesting that they issue a joint, unified statement on the economic situation, McCain goes on television states that they must cancel the debate and go immediately to Washington to push the legislation through.
UPDATE: Now there is talk of postponing Friday night’s debate and re-schedule it for the night of the Vice Presidential debate. That would mean that Sarah Palin would continue to be the best kept secret in this campaign.
If this is indeed John McCain’s new strategy then I would caution him to think twice because the American people….at least the majority of the American people will see through this ruse.

McCain goes to do the job he was hired for - Senator, by the way - and Obama has a ‘if they need me they’ll call me’ attitude. With the economy the way it is.
Letterman used to be good. Ever since his heart problems, he’s become a pussy.
