John Ashcroft Defends $50 Million “No-Bid” Contract
By Michael Lang on Apr 30, 2008 in GOLDEN FLEECE AWARDS
Hey, remember our old friend and former attorney general who was one of the original members of the Bush Crime Family? Well he is doing his old Boss proud as he is defending a $50 million “no bid” government-sanctioned contract to oversee the operations of a medical equipment company that is accused of giving kickbacks to doctors.
I love the smell of corruption in the morning. It smells like……….george bush
Kickbacks to doctors? Multi-million dollar no-bid contracts? Wait……the plot thickens!
The deal is expected to earn Ashcroft’s firm $28 million to $52 million over 18 months, according to financial filings
He was chosen for the job by U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie of New Jersey, a Republican who once worked for him. Conflict of interest you say? “There is no conflict,” Ashcroft said. “Not even an appearance of conflict.”
And yes, according to “George Bush’s Republican Guide to Moral Behavior,” there is no conflict as Ashcroft followed THE playbook for ethical governing so he is confident he will be absolved..
His testimony to the House Judiciary subcommittee on commercial and administrative law marked his first appearance before Congress since he left his post as head of the Justice Department in early 2005.
And maybe we’ll see you soon Mr. Ashcroft…….in PRISON!
