The questions of whether the United States is headed for a and whether Iraq is headed towards a are two issues that have been garnering much media attention and cause for much debate.
My reasoning for tying these two very serious issues together is that they both reveal a serious denial of the facts, hence, the truth!
These denials and the fact that these sorts of things happen far too often raises many red flags of concern that should definitely be addressed.
The fact that the actions of George Bush, Dick Cheney and their entire Administration have, as a whole, seemingly ignored due process and several of the core tenets of our Constitution over the past seven years, has, in my mind, reached crisis levels some time ago. I will admit that the Republicans are formidable when it comes to stonewalling, spinning the truth and running interference which has so far allowed them to escape scrutiny and justice.
It has been unfortunate that the Democrats weren't in power sooner so that the process of exposing these travesties would be further along. It has been extremely frustrating to me that the Bush Administration acted like they had carte blanche to govern the country anyway they wanted and then consistently lie about it.
The other example we are using for this article is the denial that Iraq has been egaged in Civil War, which it has for at least two years. All the while, the Bush Administration denied it so and used Civil War as a scare tactic, spinning the truth while we all watched an obvious civil war rage on evening news every night.
For me, one thing that has been hard to fathom is the audacity and unmitigated gall this Administration exibits daily as they can so easily look straight into the camera and lie, bold face" to the American public and the world beyond.
How? Why, you asked? Because they believe that god is on their side.....exclusively! Oh, and let's not forget that god talks to George on a regular basis, guiding him to lead the American people to the promised land.
If you think I am kidding......I'm not!
If you are as outraged as I am then please, I implore you to share that outrage by writing a comment so that my lone voice can become many!
