Following My Instincts…..
By Michael Lang on Jun 1, 2007 in INSIGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS
You are reading the first post I am making in this newly launched blog, The Lang Report, after abandoning and earlier effort that just didnt feel right. Do you know what I mean?
My whole life I knew, and have also been repeatedly told, that I was full of interesting and sometimes provocative information that I should commit to paper so that others could benefit. For whatever reasons, I procrastinated to follow that path except for the few times I unsheathed my pen and let it fly. I must admit that most of those times I was impressed by the result which scared the crap out of me!
Why was I scared? Primarily because I knew that by discovering my gift I also realized at the same time that I had a responsibility to selflessly share it with the world.
You see, I am what I like to describe as a child of the 60s which means to me that I have a higher calling than those belonging to generations that came before and after. We woke up and desperately tried to awaken all those that were sleeping around us.
During the ensuing years, I have sincerely tried to keep my eyes open and consciousness awake as I rode lifes roller coaster, experiencing both joy and tragedy along the way. All this has given me a wealth I now choose to share with the readers of The Lang Report and hope that they are touch in some significant way.
Those closest to me have stated that I am taking a risk by not focusing on a specific topic or market niche and that The Lang Report might be too vague to attract a growing readershipbut I disagree!
It seems that I have always been the happiest and experienced the greatest successes when I followed my instincts and listened to that inner voice. The dictionary defines instinct as:
- A powerful motivation or impulse, and.
- An innate capability or aptitude
I know that I am doing the right thing and hope that you, the reader, agree, and decide to take a ride in my roller coaster as I sincerely believe that you will be enriched and empowered in some very significant way.
Thank you for the opportunity..
