Kellogg Takes low road as Michael Phelps takes HIGH ROAD

I mean…come on! Did anyone that grew up in the 60s through the 80s ever believe that in 2009 we would still be having the discussion as to whether marijuana use would be a crime and its “user” a pariah?
Packaged goods giant Kellogg announced today that it would not renew its sponsorship contract with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps as consequence of his being photographed smoking marijuana. It's a strong statement by the company, particularly in historical context: According to an October 2002 Time/CNN poll, 47% of Americans have smoked marijuana.
The 2002 TIME/CNN poll found that only 34% want pot to be totally legalized (the percentage has almost doubled since 1986). But a vast majority have become mellow about official loopholes: 80% think it's O.K. to dispense pot for medical purposes, and 72% think people caught with it for recreational use should get off with only a fine. That seeming paradox has left a huge opening for pro-pot people to exploit.
And users and advocates of the plant reportedly* have included the following, several of whom are admired by Kellogg's customers:
Louisa May Alcott John Stuart Mill
Jennifer Aniston President James Monroe
Bing Crosby Mozart
Laura Bush Friedrich Nietzsche
The Beatles Peggy Noonan
Mayor Michael Bloomberg President Barack Obama
William F. Buckley, Jr. Sarah Palin
Johnny Carson Governor George Pataki
President Bill Clinton Pablo Picasso
Johnny Depp President Franklin Pierce
Harrison Ford Brad Pitt
Bill Gates Oliver Sacks
President Andrew Jackson Arnold Schwarzenegger
President Thomas Jefferson William Shakespeare
Steve Jobs Barbra Streisand
President John Kennedy George Soros
Stephen King President Zachary Taylor
Ann Landers Queen Victoria
President James Madison President George Washington
Madonna John Wayne
An appropriate politically correct response to Kellogg’s actions would be a boycott of all of their products. What if everybody that was “pro pot” in any way was to boycott Kellogg. I wonder how long it would take before they get off of their self-described high horse and relent to continuing their relationship with Michael Phelps.
Now I pose the question once again: Did anyone that grew up in the 60s through the 80s ever believe that in 2009 we would still be having the discussion as to whether marijuana use would be a crime and its “user” a pariah?
The world is imploding from greed and exploding from hate and we are still debating the pros and cons of hemp!
