Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s Not So Hidden Agenda
By Michael Lang on Apr 29, 2008 in INSIGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS
Barack Obama initially reported that his now former , the man who mentored, married him, and baptized his daughters was a man that he respected and trusted to guide and do right by him. He earnestly defended him repeatedly stating that judging the Reverend by a few 20 minute sound bite snippets out of 37 years of sermonizing was unfair and inaccurate.
And I believed him….but now?
It appears that every time Rev. Wright has spoken publicly since his initial introduction to America, he has done very little to make us believe that he has Obama’s best interests at heart. And it continues!.
At the National Press Club, the 66-year-old pastor virtually guaranteed more problems for the Democratic presidential bid of Barack Obama, just as the Illinois senator is redoubling efforts to win the support of blue-collar workers in the white heartland of the Midwest.
One would think that based on their relationship, Wright would do almost anything to ensure Obama’s success However, while claiming to safeguard the honor of his church, Wright seemed focused on personal redemption, at any cost to Obama, his parishioner for 20 years.
While complaining that his preachings have been reduced to sound bites and taken out of context, he provided new fodder for Obama’s opponents and didn’t back away from any of his comments that many found offensive, including the role of American foreign policy in the 2001 terror attacks in the U.S.
This whole series of events is a maze of contradictons and incongruencies leading with Rev. Wright’s supposed support for Barack Obama presidential candidacy on one hand and the “implied” anti-Obama statements made in the public arena.
There is a maxim that t have adopted, promoted and published here at The Lang Report that provides a solution to the Obama/Wright dilemma of who and what to believe, And that maxim is: Behavior Does Not Lie!
So you decide what is motivating the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to promote himself and his views at the expense of the first Afro-American to have a legitimate chance to reside in the Whit House for the next four years. Only when deciding, watch “the behavior.”
