Alcee Hastings says Bush, Cheney Deserve to be Impeached — SO?
By Michael Lang on Jun 19, 2008 in Political Commentary
Isn’t the above title truthful, inspiring and worthy of applause? I think so! and DO deserve to be ….right? The why the “so” at the title’s end? WHY? Because with all of the rhetoric spoken and newsprint expended….nothing is happening except for the efforts of a few true patriots who are being labeled as “extreme” and grandstanding.”
Why the so? …….. read on.
The Lang Report (TLR) has be an active proponent of impeaching George Bush and Dick Cheney for the “high crimes and misdemeanors” that they have committed almost from Day One of their administration which has been labeled the most corrupt Presidential administration EVER.
Richard Nixon’s former White House attorney, John Dean, has emphatically stated the the dynamic duo of Bush and Cheney make Nixon look like a choir boy, which is a statement that deserves serious thought.
As I stated in an article earlier this week, how and why this Presidential administration has gone 7 plus years unchallenged by the justice system and process is a question that will need to be answered by parents and historians in the very near future.
And I say this in all seriousness, we had better come up with more plausible answers than the ones we have presently been espousing. Because they are extremely lame and in my opinion, embarrassing.
Anthony Man is the political writer in Broward County for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel blog. He concentrates on local political people, parties and trends, also covering state and national politics from a Broward perspective. Here is an article published today, 6/19/08, which I thought worthy of reprinting in The Lang Report because it will answer the above question of why the - so.
NOTE: Pay particular attention the the highlighted passages
U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, says President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney deserve to be impeached for what they’ve done to the nation. But he voted against an impeachment resolution because it’s not a fight worth pursuing with just seven months left in Bush’s term.
“Bush and Cheney should not only be impeached, they ought to be jailed for what they did to this nation,” Hastings said. “I feel there are high crimes and misdemeanors committed by the president of the United States.”
Even though he thinks they deserve to be removed, and many in the Democratic base would love the idea, he said it would be a mistake.
“It would tear this country apart, despite my ideological feelings about what has transpired,” Hastings said. “This nation is in a gut-wrenching death grip ideologically. To split it no matter what Cheney and Bush have done would leave us probably beyond repair in our lifetimes.”
Last week, the House voted to send an impeachment resolution, sponsored by U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, and supporter by U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, a Broward-Palm Beach county Democrat, to a committee.
Nothing will happen, and the resolution will die there, Hastings said. He said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., wisely decided impeachment would not be pursued.
U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, a Democrat who represents much of coastal Broward, was more cautious in his assessment of Bush.
“There’s a lot of frustration about President Bush, obviously,” he said. “Whether there are impeachable offenses that were committed by the president and vice president, I don’t know.”
I apologize for ending the article here but I cannot stomach it any further. It’s not that the article that Mr. Man wrote is factual or not because it is….and that’s precisely why I will not subject my readers to it beyond this point. (If you must, and in fairness to Mr. Man’s work you can read the article in its entirety, here
I would like to address the continued excuse that “impeachment would tear this country apart.” Then why don’t we just remove it from the Constitution or should we just wait and see if Bush or Cheney admit to or get caught getting a “blow-job” in the Oval Office!
Think about all of the dysfunctional people and families in this country. What would happen if they decided to avoid intervention treatment and therapy because if might “tear the family apart”
Guess what? It’s too late as the family, or in this case our nation is already torn apart, hence the need for treatment, or again in this case……IMPEACHMENT.
pssst…..think about it!
Bush impeachment commences! - “Having failed in efforts to impeach Vice President Cheney, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio) escalated his battle against the administration this week by introducing 35 articles of impeachment against President Bush, …
Kucinich presents impeach articles - Kucinich presents impeach articles.
Kucinich presents Bush impeachment articles - mr. kucinich: the form of the resolution is as follows. a resolution, articles of impeachment of george bush, president of the united states. resolved that president george w. bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanor and that …

Mayor Sanchez, I tend to agree with you concerning Hastings and the idea of forcing him to move on with another chapter of his life…outside of politics!
I have just begun learning more about you; what you advocate for and what you have done.
I try to personally and professionally measure all people, especially myself by “behavior,” the logic being that “behavior does not lie.”
If you actually represent your constituents, vote your conscience unswayed by special interests, then I and The Lang Report would certainly and gratefully advocate for you being elected.
Thank you for commenting and please feel free to come again and express yourself as we will always publish it.
Sincerely,

Ray, there is one thing we canbe sure of and that is that you feel passionately about the removal of Alcee Hastings from office.
The Lang Report agrees that the time has come for us to address the Congressman as the former Congressman because it is time for a change.
So I urge all to do your own research and choose wisely.

Kucinich is simply the best.
George W. Bush’s sentence-by-sentence speaking skills are deteriorating. Apparently, this may be due to a mental illness called “presenile dementia.†Bush may or may not be secretly still drinking heavily. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Moreover, Bush has been arrested three times. Bush was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bush was arrested for stealing. Bush was also arrested for a serious crime—driving under the influence of alcohol. There are reasons to believe that Bush suffers from a learning disability. Bush’s learning disability would explain a lot of things. All in all, Bush is a severely mentally ill individual. Bush is not fit to be the president of the United States.
