Why is it that when we discover a with some sort of genuine integrity, that he or she is held up as an anomaly? In fact, it is so rare that they are often applauded and congratulated as if they had done something extraordinary…..and maybe they did!

It’s getting to where you can’t go 24 hours without reading or hearing about some abhorrent behavior from someone entrusted and elected to be a representative of the people.

Something that happens so frequently raises several very important and hopefully revealing questions, like:

1) Have we gotten so bad at seeing through the rhetoric and judging a candidate’s character?

2) Has our decaying political system and general public apathy kept all of the good people out of the race?

3) Has being inundated with scandals of sexual misconduct, marital infidelities and the like, jaded us so much that we have become numb to it all creating and indifference?

Whatever answers or insights we may glean from the above questions, one thing is for certain and that is that politicians have, for the most part, been equated with a “used car salesmen”.

What happened to being of maximum service to the people that gave you a job with the hope and understanding that they would be represented?

Unfortunately, this the end result of settling for mediocrity. We lowered the bar so much that it barely exists at all!

Now even though I too am jaded, disgusted and left struggling with believing that good will triumph over evil, I have chosen to have hope that a genuine leader will emerge from the “masses” and lead us out of the wilderness of moral decay we now find ourselves lost in.

Please, join me in making this happen because I fear that if we do not turn the tide and destroy the “slippery slope” that our society with go the way of Ancient Rome, a great civilization that became so depraved that it disappeared into the pages of history!
