You Can’t Save Your FACE and Your ASS at the Same Time

I am so frustrated and pissed off right now that I’m almost beyond words, however there are a few I can muster and I’ll do my best to keep it clean.
Yesterday, in proposing the impeachment of Vice President , Rep. Dennis Kucinich and his fellow Democrats demonstrated, once again, why their approval rating is worse that our Presidents, George “The Decider” Bush.
Here’s what happened, (try to follow the bouncing ball): An attempt to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney through introduction of a privileged resolution spun entirely out of control as Republicans crossed the aisle and tried to force an actual vote on the measure. Initially, it appeared that the vote was cruising as expected to a wide defeat for Kucinich. As time expired, the motion to table the resolution - meaning cutting off debate - had well over the required 218 votes and was climbing as more came in.
Around then, however, Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ.) suggested Republicans shift their votes to the ‘no’ column so that the motion to table would fail, thereby forcing an hour-long debate on the resolution. The ‘aye’ column gradually fell. In response, Democrats began changing their own votes to counteract the GOP strategy, then decided against that plan, realizing it could actually result in a vote on whether to impeach Cheney, said Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD.). After the scramble, the Kucinich resolution was referred to the House Judiciary Committee, where it is expected to languish until dead.
I studiously watched CSPAN as these events unfolded and I (with an IQ of 150+) had difficulty discerning exactly what was happening and what kind of f*cked up strategy strategy the Democrats were attempting to implement. Guess what? There was no strategy and even more frightening ………NO LEADERSHIP!
Yesterday’s article focused on Bush’s atrocious approval rating which, if you can believe this, is a few point higher than that of Congress now under the Democrats’ leadership. A few points lower than Bush…..not an easy task!
It’s been one year since the election and the Democrats gaining control of Congress, but it seems they have been unable to do much with their majority except to possibly cause irreparable damage to their reputation and the confidence of the American public.
I wrote an article last November the day after the 2006 election titled, “A New Day in America” where I expressed how elated and optimistic I was that the American people gave the Democrats their vote of confidence….and control of Congress. I wrote as I had hoped that the Bush Administration would be reined in and that sanity would be restored to the land.
What a f*cking pipe dream that turned out to be!
Even with the control of the , the Democrats have managed to turn their party into one big “dysfunctional cluster-f*ck”, starting at the top with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid who should be candidates for the next “American Gothic”.
