Who Can Deliver More Political Change — Hillary or Obama?
AlterNet – San Francisco,CA,USA
When the history of Campaign 2008 is written, a memorable image will be Hillary Clinton’s poor imitation of Barack Obama as she strode across a stage in Rhode Island mocking the idea that change will come when the sky opens for a "celestial choir." Though Sen. Clinton’s performance left many political observers wondering if the long campaign had finally gotten to her, Sen. Obama brushed off the affront with a smile and a generous critique.
Obama faces tough questions on NAFTA, integrity
Newsday – Long Island,NY,USA SAN ANTONIO, Texas – On the eve of contests he hopes will force Hillary Rodham Clinton from the presidential race, Barack Obama faced a barrage of attacks yesterday about his integrity, foremost among them whether he engaged in double-speak about his opposition to the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Much of the criticism was initiated by Clinton. But it assumed a life of its own as Obama struggled to explain why a Canadian government memo quoted one of his aides as saying Obama’s opposition to NAFTA was for political show.
Clinton wins could trump Obama delegate edge
San Francisco Chronicle – CA, USA, Barack Obama’s lead in pledged delegates, at least 151, according to the Associated Press, after 11 straight victories last month, most of them by wide margins, is so wide that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton cannot catch up with anything less than blowout victories in the 60-40 percent range in both states. On the momentum side, however, if Clinton wins both states, even narrowly, she could blunt Barack Obama’s momentum and generate some of her own. Headlines will declare a Clinton victory in two giant states, lifting some of the pressure on her from party leaders to exit the race.
