Barack Obama - Hot Links #14

Here are some of the most current stories on :

The Obama Doctrine
Wall Street Journal - USA
Barack Obama is a skillful candidate, but also one who has never had to deal with foreign policy pronouncements on the fly before. Sometimes it shows Last year he blundered by publicly declaring he would intervene in Pakistan if that nation’s government didn’t cooperate in the war on terrorism.  This week, Mr. Obama stumbled again after he declared he wants to withdraw from Iraq but "leave enough troops in Iraq to guard our embassy and diplomats, and a counter-terrorism force to strike al Qaeda if it forms a base that the Iraqis cannot destroy."

The Obama difference
Salon - USA
April 3, 2008 | PHILADELPHIA — "I’ve been running now for 15 months," Barack Obama would announce with a whiff of weary wonder in his voice at virtually every stop on his just-completed six-day Pennsylvania bus trip. Then the Democratic front-runner would add the punch line that underscored the absurdity of this presidential marathon: "Which means that there are babies that have been born and now are walking and talking."

Rattling The Cage: If Obama were White

For many Jews and evangelical Christians, there’s also Wright’s characterization of Israel as a practitioner of "state terrorism." This stuff is not going to go away.

Barack Obama should "come out strongly for policies that would reduce the number of abortions — support for pregnant women, abstinence education, the responsible promotion of birth control." In fact, Obama has advocated the policies Gerson mentioned: "education" that "include[s] abstinence" and "information about contraception."

MLive.com - MI,USA
Barack Obama was endorsed Wednesday by a labor union and two Democratic superdelegates, as a poll showed he has cut Sen. Hillary Rodham Clintons lead in Pennsylvania almost in half since mid-February as he strives to deny her a resounding victory in the state’s presidential primary.
