Does Barack Obama Really Lack Substance? - Fact or Fiction
By Michael Lang on Feb 14, 2008 in POLITICS
I am fairly sure that has shortcomings however they have nothing to do with his ability to function as President of the
Concerning experience, I’ve done some research and have yet to discover a school, course or seminar that prepares people to be the “leader of the free world.” If any president-elect lacks judgment, vision and character when they show up for work on January 20th, then it’s a bet that they will fail miserably as demonstrated by the present bozo not sitting in the Oval Office
If a presidential candidate is divisive by nature and is uncomfortable with bringing people together with different points of view to get things done…. nothing will get done! If our next president can not or will not listen to the experts and the will of the American people then we are sure to repeat the same mistakes.
If there is any shred of doubt that Barack Obama lacks the substance to lead our country in a new direction – a direction that is not only desired but is imperative to our survival in the rapidly changing 21st century, then watch this video and squash those doubts so we can move on.

Obama is smart, no doubt about it and is a handsome orator, but he is NO JFK!
He truly lacks brass balls or he would NOT have voted almost exclusively “Present” as a Illinois Legislator. NO excuses as he is quick to point out that those other Illinois Democrats did it – and so that’s our “CHANGE” maverick – HA! Really ???
Those other lamo Illinois Dems (that Obama hides behind), are’t running for President you misleading JERK !
Obama’s health care plan is crafted as tricky as they come… as it is nearly identical in cost to Hillary’s comprehensive Universal Heath care coverage – but Obama’s leaves out 15 million people, according to Sanjay Gupta’s (U.S.leading neurosurgon), research. See here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnbxKUWKP-s
So who are those 15 million people anyway NOT covered by Obama’s sound bite designated health plan – either the lower income poor (I doubt it because that would be just like a Republican’s selfishness), or the middle class out of work and who can’t afford their own (most likely). and those good folks are US – FOOL !

Thanks for your comment as all points of view are welcome at TLR. I agree with you on the Health Care issue and I am anxious to see how, in the end, Obama deals with those 15 million people. The fact of the matter is that I don’t have to agreee with EVERYTHING that a candidate advocates for. Do you?
Obama may not prove to be the incarnation of John or Bobby Kennedy but he has surely inspired a sleeping and complacent population into, once again, believing that their vote and participation in our Denocracy is important.

now really, look at the way Obama votes. He’s totally agianst guns. He is going to try to ban guns within the U.S. His claim to let hunters keep theirs is bogus too. Did you know the right to bear arms is… a right!! He does not want to give us more money of our own, he wants to have the government suck it all back in practically. His view of government is as if he believes the government knows best and should have however much money it wants (note i didn’t say need.” I won’t and don’t assault the man’s character but he is playing the dozens. His rhetoric, impeccable and stirring, but lacks any substance to express unity. By the way getting into the Naval Academy and graduating is an accomplishment in of itself. I mean why don’t you go and mock your pretty boy Kennedy for not being a total genius, or even Bush for that matter. A leader isn’t made up of what he says, but by what he does. If the content of our President’s character means that little to you, then lets see what could occur under a PResident without the substance needed.

Thank for the input. Time will tell whether the words of Barack Obama with prove true as there is a maxim that I try to utilize in my affairs, personal and professional.. and that is: BEHAVIOR DOES NOT LIE!
The comparisons to John and Bobby Kennedy are not far off the mark as I remember both and the days they were both slain. Bobby spoke to my generation at a time when the Vietnam War was raging and our Government was lying to us….and we knew it!
The is one thing for certain and that is that the American people are being re-awakened by Obama from a very deep sleep. A major course correction is needed for America and someone needs to lead and who else is there?

Do explain how Obama has united anyone?
He has the most liberal voting record in the senate, so he doesn’t unify bitartisanly.
And gallup polls show he has a complete disconnect with the white working class, so he certainly has not bridged a racial and socio-economic divide.
I think its great he inspired college kids to take the 2008 elections seriously but his empty rhetoric has not gone unnoticed by more mature eyes.
Please show me how he has unified any two groups? Because he can’t even unify his party as it stands.

Obama states that McCain cannot start making changes. That he, Obama, has been running on making changes since he started campaigning. He has been making changes, only those changes are what we call flip-floping

Speaking of Barack Obama:
Barack Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in his heart and mind he inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.
George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).
George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.
And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.
Many people know what Bush did.
And many people will know what Bush did—even to the end of the world.
Bush was absolute evil.
Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.
Bush is a psychological prisoner.
Bush has a lot to worry about.
Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.
In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.

I am not sure where I had read it before, but anyway, it is a linguistically excellent statement, and it goes kind of like this: “If only it were possible to ban invention that bottled up memories so they never got stale and faded.” Oh wait—off the top of my head—I think the quotation came from my Lower Merion High School yearbook.
