Creationism IS NOT Science and SHOULD NOT Be Taught as Science
By Michael Lang on Nov 10, 2008 in RELIGION - OR LACK OF
The debate continues….
What exactly is creationism and should it be taught in public schools?
The articles recently published in The Lang Report were a cause for much controversy, judging by the comment they generated. They are:

A Comment on Sarah Palin and Creationism from a Foreigner
Sarah Palin Wants Creationism Taught in School,
Doctor Adam Rutherford has told Teachers TV News he has serious concerns over the findings of a survey on creationism in the classroom.
Nearly a third (33%) of teachers, who responded to an email poll for Teachers TV, think creationism or intelligent design should be given the same status as evolution.
Of the 248 science teachers who responded, 18% agreed that the two very different theories should have equal status.
Dr Rutherford says that science teachers with those views need retraining or should be taken out of the classroom if they refuse to change their opinion.
The dictionary defines creationism as: the belief in the literal interpretation of the account of the creation of the universe and of all living things related in the Bible.
As a “belief system” it is our position that creationism should be taught in parochial schools….not public schools.
Here is Dr. Rutherford on VIDEO

Creationism in schools row. Nope it’s not Kansas - Before the survey came out, Rutherford made a film for Teachers TV discussing the teaching of creationism in schools, and interviews Michael Reiss who at the time was still in post at the Royal Society as director of education. …
‘Significant minority’ of teachers want creationism in schools - Almost three in 10 teachers disagree with the government’s guidelines on teaching evolution and would like creationism to be taught in science lessons, according to a survey.

Creationism In Schools? - Should science teachers talk about creationism?
Evolution, Creation, Stupidity - And he is very wrong, a school, even a public school, CAN teach creation if they want (it is a PUBLIC school, by law what the PUBLIC wants taught is what gets taught), they just can’t DEMAND it be taught if the school board and …

Evolution is NOT science, and should not be taught in schools! Is there any concrete proof that anything evolved, that is from nothing to something? (Of course “evolution” takes place everyday, but not from the goo to form. More so it takes place in situations like I sat in the sun too long so now my hair is bleached more than yesterday.) Where are all the in between species? Oh, maybe they found so called “Lucy,” but she flunked the test. There is NO absolute proof for evolution, just as there is NO absolute proof that everything was designed by a creator. So, why don’t we teach both in school, and call them THEORIES, which is what they are. No need to get all worked up. And, if you look at life especially at the molecular level, I’d say it looks incredibly complex and orderly to me. Not so much like a big bang or bunch of goo swirled together. Why get so hot and bothered by another theory being presented? Children should be able to decide for themselves.

Creationism is not a theory, it is a made up story where the only proof is ‘Prove that it didn’t happen’. Evolution has nothing to do with the creation of the world or life or anything. It basically says that life ‘evolves’ through natural selection, which is living things that have traits that are more sutiable to survive will reproduce and eventually that trait will become dominant through out the species. Don’t comment unless you are informed, k thx.

PART 1: I have to say, both sides have a presuposition where they start out with minds made up in how they are going to go about proving their own theories. I too know science after having studied under Tom DeRosa and frankly am angry at the school system for NOT exposing me to both teachings, only evolutionism. Once an avid supporter for evolution I was proven wrong time and again by real science once I searched with an open mind, to the point of having to throw in the towel and face up to the real facts. It takes more whacked out theories to believe in evolutionism than it does to believe in creationism. A number of years ago I watched an interview on tv with Sir Julian Huxley, grandson of Thomas Huxley, known as Darwin’s “bulldog.” Sir Julian, until he died, was probably the premier evolutionist in the world. He was president of the United Nation’s Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization and of course an extraordinary influential man.

Part 2: The interviewer asked, “Why do you thiink that evolution caught on so quickly?” I was shocked by his reply and at the same time I had to admire his honesty at that moment. His answer? He said this: “I suppose the reason we all jumped at the Origin (Origin of Species) was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores.” Mores of course is a secular term for morals. There is Huxley’s reason for the acceptance of evolution.
The laws of science are the foundation of all scientific endeavor. They have been demonstrated to be reliable, regardless of time or place. These laws enable researchers to make accurate predictions from a given set of conditions. They demonstrate an overwhelming presense of order and design in the univers. Almost every scientific law can be expressed by means of a mathematical formula. Many are named after the scientist responsible for their discovery.
By donya on Nov 3, 2009 | Reply
Part 3:For instance Newton’s Laws of Motion: 3 laws for all motion, Universal Gravitation: 2 bodies attracting each other, Boyle’s Law: gas pressure and volume relationships, Charle’s Law: gas temperature and volume relationships, Ideal Gas Law: gas tem, volume, and pressure, Coulomb’s Law: charges, distances between two objects, Hooke’s Law: spring action and force, Kepler’s Law: laws of planetary orbits, Snell’s Law: refraction law of light, Ohm’s Law: electrical law of volts, amps, and resistance, Laws of Thermodynamics: universal laws of energy and matter, to name just several.
Laws suggest a lawgiver-a designer or creator of the univers. Sir Isaac Newton, the greatest scientist who ever lived, was a creationist who thought of God as the divine watchmaker. Like a fine mechanical watch, each component of creation is designed to work in harmony with every other part. This pattern of intricate coordination in the cosmos points to a creator, one who designed the universe.

Part4:Newton, when developing the Law of Universal Gravitation observed the movements of the planets around the sun, and concluded: “The most beautiful system of sun, planets, and comets could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being.”
The laws of science are uniform, universal, and unchanging, and thus predictable. A law of science is true whether it is applied on earth or anywhere in space. For example Newton’s laws of motion not only operate here on earth, but also on the moon or a star. No matter where you are in the universe, Newton’s second law of motion predicts that whenever force is applied, a predictable acceleration will ensue. Laws of science then, are universal, repeatable, predictable, subject to mathematical expression, and evidence of order in creation.

Part5: Of all the laws of science, the laws of thermodynamics, particularly the first two, are the most important. These laws can be applied to the most enormous objects in the universe or to tiny invisible particles. They hold true for matter or energy, or both. A wide variety of conditions can be applied, and the results will always be the same. The 2 laws of thermodynamics impact almost every branch of science. They were formally discovered around 200 years ago in the course of experiments with heat and its movement.
The greek word for “thermodynamics” is composed of “therme” meaning heat, and “dunamis,” referring to power or energy. Energy is difficult to define because it cannot be seen and does not have mass. You can only observe its effects. You cannot see electricity, but you can see its effect when lightning strikes the earth.

Part6:There are different kind of energy, mechanical, chemical, electrical, magnetic, nuclear, heat and light. The most amazing phenomenon found while developing the steam engine during the Industrial Revolution is that heat energy can be transformed into mechanical and other kinds of energy (nuclear excepted). This prompted fresh insights into how all kinds of energy can be transferred from one form to another. As investigations continued, definite predictable patterns were formed. Mathematical relationships were discovered, giving birth to the most fundamental laws of science–The Laws of Thermodynamics.
These laws were developed by Lord William Thomson Kelvin (1824-1907), a devout Christian and creationist, whose stature as a scientist rivals that of Newton. Lord Kelvin made numerous contributions to science, including many inventions. He held 21 honorary doctorates. It is no surprise that he discovered these vital universal laws, given his faith that the creation came from an infinite, loving, intelligent God.
By donya on Nov 3, 2009 | Reply
Part7:The First Law of Thermodynamics states that the amount of energy and matter remain constant. Matter or energy may change from one form to another, but will always be conserved. Matter and energy can neither be created nor destroyed. This law is called the Law of Conservation of matter and energy.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics holds that energy and matter have a universal tendency to go to disorder, a process known as entropy. The universe is basically running down in every form. Organization, if left alone, becomes disorganization. Energy must be added to the system to increase order and lower entropy.
The first 2 laws of thermodynamics are foundational to science because they deal with the basic stuff of the material universe, matter and energy. They apply to every living and nonliving system. The conservation of energy and matter, and the fact that a system’s energy and matter are naturally running down, have great implications.
By donya on Nov 3, 2009 | Reply
Part8:We know from the first law that matter and energy are predictable and constant. The energy input will always equal the energy output. On the other hand, the second law of disorder requires work to keep a system going. This can be disconcerting. Machines tend to run down, living systems eventually decay and die, including humans. Even the heavenly bodies are wearing away. When one steps back to evaluate these laws and their impact on the univers, the question naturally arises as to how they came to be. Just as all laws suggest a lawgiver, so the preeminent laws of thermodynamcics most assuredly had to come from the hand of God. It is irrational to believe that these universal laws are the consequences of random chance. There is only one intelligent alternative: God.

This 8 part post only scratches the surface. There are still many other areas that prove Creationism to be more scientific than evolutionism. I could go on about the inaccuracies of geological science when applied to the theory of evolution versus the Creationism account… and I will should the evolutionist agenda continue to impose this THEORY as fact. It is not fact nor should be taught as such. Creationism is more scientifically sound as it actually recognizes the utmost accurate standards without imposing far-fetched theories to support it as the evolutionists do. Please question what you are taught in schools because this 45 year old student can actually give good arguement that you’ve been poorly versed in this debate.
With Respect,
Donya
