Over the centuries, billions of people have fallen prey to religion run amok. How many Jews and Gypsies suffered in Nazi concentration camps while churches in Germany turned their heads? How many people were murdered in the Crusades during the middle ages–in the name of God?  

Here’s some of the questions that man has been pondering through the ages:

• Some religious leaders seem to tell us that we’re not smart enough or good enough to discover God on our own. Who says?
• If God is good and perfect, why is there so much evil and suffering in the world?
• How can anyone rely on the Bible for answers, if it’s just a loose translation of ancient myths anyway?
• How can we trust a religion that has advocated slavery and the subjugation of women throughout history?

Organized religion is just like any other organization run by people…..people with egos, shortcomings and all sorts of character defects that warp the organization into caricature of itself.

Even the inspiration of a higher power and the best intentions will not save any organization from those with personal or professional agendas. NOT POSSIBLE!

In order to perpetuate the success of organized religious organizations,lies needed to be told and retold as these religious orders grew with each generation. The lies, which have now become their truth were written in stone and accepted without being questioned for its validity.

What is always puzzling to me is the resistance to even question any of the fundamental pillars that support these belief systems. It’s as if they don’t want to know or scared to rattle the foundation on which they placed their entire existence.

Because if that foundation is found to be less than solid….then what?
