Sir

Christians base their belief on the fact that Jesus died - and rose again. To pay for our sins, by the way. I would stake anything on a guy who has conquered death. In addition to that he preached such things as the sermon on the mountain and taught us the golden rule. As I see it, I am not aware of anybody else, who has that kind of a track record. And he will accept anybody who approaches him with an honest mind.
God bless.

I am glad you got the point about logic. Because when using universal logic it's impossible to disprove anything! For instance, if you say little green men don't exist, and scour the entire world and don't find one, does that mean they don't exist? No, it means that you missed them.

As far as the similarities of allah, that's where most of your americanism really shows. There are people that have converted from allah to christianity and they tour the country telling not just christians but americans how they are raised. Not just how they raised in their country but also in our country. They are raised to hate Jews, Christians and Americans in that order. There are groups of these folks telling the real story. Of course, most groups just find that hard to believe because you can go to any of the temples or what ever they call their house of worship and just ask them.

Heck they will tell yhou that they teach love and harmony. Yup, they will tell you what you want to hear.

It's obvious by your statements that you have already heard them tell you that. WHy is it that 60 minutes or 20/20 has not interview any of these guys? I don't think I have to answer that. It's probably a good post for you to make.

Thank you for participating in an open dialogue on The Lang Report.
Your question is: "shouldn't it be the other way around?"
Well. actually there are no "shoulds" because my desire or goal is not to change the mind of a "believer".
If it was, your "reasoning", utilizing pure logic and its "argumentation theory" would not hold one bit of water. Think again about the "logical fallacies" inherent in a statement like, "what happens when they die and they find out they were wrong." I understand and respect your belief and am also grateful that we both live in a country that allows you and I our beliefs but let me propose another line of thought using your same logic.

What if we were born in the Middle East and we were exposed only to the word of Allah as written in the Koran. The Koran has a similar belief system as yours, in fact it is has more similarities than differences when it comes to what must be done in this life in order to prosper in the afterlife. It is also written in the Koran that you must believe or else suffer dire consequences. I could go on however I hope my point is made.
How can you and your god believe that your way is the winning belief, especially when believers in Allah far out number believers in the New Testament.
If you tell me you believe because you choose to because it makes you feel good, be a better man, husband and father then I say have at it....that's great!
However when you play the "boo game" and try reverse logic on me it makes it difficult to take you seriously as it is much akin to arguing with a 4 year old and when challenged their response is "just because".
Re-read your response to me and try to see it as openly as you can and you'll see my train of thought and its accuracy.

Thanks again for helping me crystalize my thoughts.

It seems to me that a lot of folks who choose not to believe in the Bible or God, want the believers to prove of the "existence".

In reality, shouldn't it be the other way around? What happens when they die and only then they find out that they are wrong? It will be too late!
