Ayaan Hirsi Ali: “The Caged Virgin”

She has called the prophet a pervert and say that “Islam is a culture that has been outlived.” She has lost her faith, dumped two husbands and has been disowned by her family.

She is a controversial film maker and author whose memoir, Infidel is #7 on the New York Times bestseller list in addition to being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine…….AND, as of October of this year she has been working from a secret location somewhere in the Netherlands.

If you are doubling that such a person exists, I assure you that Ayaan Hirsi Ali is very real and an extremely amazing individual with accomplishments well those already described.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is 38 years old, born in Mogadishu, Somalia before she sought asylum in the Netherlands in 1992 to avoid a marriage arranged by her father. There she rose to become a member of the Dutch Parliament from 2003 until May of 2006 speaking out on radical Islam and the oppression of women that is so ingrained into its culture.

In 2004 she and director Theo van Gogh made the film Submission which focuses on the oppression of women in conservative Islamic cultures. As a result of airing the film on Dutch television, van Gogh was gruesomely assassinated by an Islamic extremist. The killer stabbed a note into van Gogh’s chest addressed to Ali. The note promised that her death was next.

So now you know why Hirsi Ali is surrounded by bodyguards compliments of the Dutch government. She found refuge in an apartment in a protected building until the residents on her block filed suit, complaining that her presence exposed them to undue risk. The suit was upheld forcing her to move out Her only alternative, all things considered, was to move to the United States where she was not as well known as she is in Europe.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an intelligent and courageous woman as she continues to speak out against the twisted cultural practices of Islam including honor killings and the genital mutilation of little girls. She has even gone as far as suggesting that the Netherlands should amend its Constitution to ban faith-based schools in order to keep Muslim parents from sending their children to Muslims schools.

If you think that is harsh, I ask you. Where do you think the seeds are planted that grow in terrorists? Where do you think young men get he idea that strapping a bomb to their chest and killing innocent people will deliver them into the arms of 72 virgins? The seeds are planted in the madrasas all over the world!
