MATT CUTTS SPEAKS and Everybody Listens!!!
By Michael Lang on Jun 28, 2007 in BRAIN FOOD
speaks everybody listens, and with very good reasons. His blog, Matt Cutts: Gadgets, and SEO is extremely popular with each posting revered as if it was a message from Mt. Olympus.
He works for the quality group at Google, specializing in search engine optimization and is well known in the SEO community for enforcing the Google Webmaster Guidelines and cracking down on link spam. Before working at the quality group at Google, Cutts worked at the ads engineering group, dealing with SafeSearch capabilities.
Cutts was the first to publicly propose using historical data to identify link spam at Google and is one of the co-inventors listed in the patent filings for it. In August 2006, he admitted to using the identity GoogleGuy in posts to web related boards.
Then, in early 2007, Matt announced that Google had developed an algorithm to reduce the amount of "Google bombs" appearing in searches. He continues to speak, as it seems, as Google’s unofficial and uncensored spokesperson and one of the only pipelines of current and accurate information from the notoriously tight-lipped Google.
For this reason The Lang Report will continue to post what Matt Cutts has to offer for as He speaks we ALL should listen!
Today’s post contains the enclosed video about Google’s algorithm that detects over-optimized websites. These websites are downgraded in Google’s search results and referred to as the "" because the over-optimized web pages are usually downgraded 950 positions. Ouch!
